Franklin Templeton hires BlackRock’s Elliott as head of advisory

Franklin Templeton has hired BlackRock’s Mark Elliott to head its UK advisory sales team as it makes a number of appointments to strengthen its UK business.

Elliott will join the asset manager as head of advisory on 17 June, moving over from BlackRock where he was head of UK retail sales and latterly managing director of European, Middle Eastern and African retail sales.

Prior to BlackRock, Elliott held positions with Lazard Asset Management and Sedgwick Noble Lowndes.

In addition, Franklin Templeton has promoted former head of advisory sales and strategic partnership Alex Brotherston to the newly created role of head of UK retail sales, in which he will be responsible for the firm’s advisory and discretionary sales teams.

Mark Ward also joined the company on 7 May as marketing manager for UK and Nordic discretionary and institutional business. Over his career, he has worked at Gartmore, Fidelity International and Aviva Investors.
