Enterprise investment scheme and venture capital trust fund manager Calculus Capital has hired former Citigroup man Richard Moore for its investment team.
Moore has been appointed as investment director and will help to identify new investment opportunities. He joins Calculus from Citigroup, where he has worked since 2005 and was most recently head of the European technology investment banking group.
Previously, he has worked at Flemings and JP Morgan and has more than 14 years’ experience in advising on private equity investments, buy-side and sell-side merger and acquisition mandates, public equity and debt offerings, and leveraged buy-outs in the UK, Europe, US and Asia.
Moore is the third hire in nine months for Calculus’s investment team. In September 2012, the group appointed Rothschild’s Rick Jones as an investment director while Roshan Puri was hired as an investment associate in February 2013.
Calculus chairman Susan McDonald says: “EIS is playing a key role in supporting entrepreneurial British companies that face challenges in accessing expansion capital. The fact that we have attracted people of the calibre of Rick and Richard reflects both our solid track record and the tremendous opportunities in the market.”
