Axa Wealth has closed its pre-sale technical helpline for advisers following a review of its post-RDR business structure.

The technical helpline was previously staffed by two people, one of whom has left the business following the closure.

An Axa Wealth spokeswoman says advisers seeking technical support will be able to contact their business partnership manager if they have one, or the firm’s specialist product or Elevate adviser support teams.

She says: “We ensure any technical queries will be directed to the appropriate area, investigated and reported back on any occasion that they cannot be answered immediately.

“We announced a while ago that we would evolve our business structure to offer the best support to advisers in line with the unprecedented levels of change in the industry.

“These changes are designed to increase our support for our key adviser population through greater segmentation and tailored consultancy support.”

Radcliffe & Newlands chartered financial planner Mel Kenny says: “The risk in cutting things like technical support is we will end up in a race to the bottom and advisers and customers will get a lower level of service.”
