Aviva Investors lead multi asset fund manager Justin Onuekwusi is leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities.
Onuekwusi managed the five funds in the Aviva multi asset range and co-managed a number of RBS and Natwest funds.
The management of his portfolios will be passed onto deputy manager Nick Samouilhan. He will be joined by Peter Fitzgerald, co-head of multi manager, who will act as co-fund manager on the range.
Fitzgerald has 12 years’ experience in managing multi-manager and fund of fund portfolios and this change brings together his manager research with Samouilhan’s asset allocation skills.
Onuekwusi has been with Aviva since 2010. Prior to joining the firm he was a fund research analyst at Merrill Lynch and has also worked as an investment consultant for Aon Consulting.
In a statement, Aviva Investors says: “Multi-asset funds at Aviva Investors have always been managed with a team based investment process with investment decisions being taken by the fund managers based on inputs from the wider multi asset solutions group of 21 investment professionals.”
The group adds: “We do not anticipate any changes to the investment process.”
