Neuberger Berman has launched three emerging market debt funds under its Irish-domiciled Ucits funds umbrella.

The three EMD funds will target hard currency bonds, local currency bonds and corporate bonds respectively.

Bart van der Made will oversee the Neuberger Berman Emerging Market Debt – Hard Currency fund, while with Raoul Luttik running the Neuberger Berman Emerging Market Debt – Local Currency fund.

Nish Popat and Jennifer Gorgoll will co-manage the Neuberger Berman Emerging Market Debt Corporate Debt fund.

Neuberger Berman has been actively bulking up its EM debt team recently, hiring 19 recruits from ING in May 2013. Van der Made and Luttik joined during this time.

Nerberger Berman head of EMEA and Latin America Dik van Lomwel says: “Adding the emerging market debt team to Neuberger Berman was a key strategic initiative as it enables us to offer our investors complete fixed income solutions.

“The launch of the three Ucits funds marks and important first step in building a comprehensive suite of emerging market debt strategies.”
