James Lowen and Clive Beagles’ £1.9bn JOHCM UK Equity Income fund has made investors 98.7 per cent over the five years to the end of June. HSBC, Royal Dutch Shell, BP, GlaxoSmithKline and Tesco are the five biggest positions in the portfolio. The managers have an interest in areas that are not keenly watched by investors, such as bus and rail, and telecommunications firms, and recently started a position in National Express.
