Kleinwort Benson has appointed Barclays Wealth & Investment Management’s Fadi Zaher as head of bonds and currencies.

Zaher has been given responsibility for “defining, building and leading” Kleinwort Benson’s strategy for bonds and currencies as the company looks to strengthen its offering.

Reporting to chief investment officer Mouhammed Choukeir, he will work alongside the portfolio managers to build solutions for the firm’s ultra high net worth clients in the UK and Channel Islands.

Zaher was most recently head of fixed income sales trading for EMEA at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management and has previously worked for the European Central Bank and the Financial Services Authority.

Choukeir said: “Fadi will be a great addition to our team as we strengthen our client proposition and expand our core offering. He has a strong track record in leading a fixed income strategy and research team and I look forward to working with him as we develop our fixed income model portfolios.”
