Canada Life Investments has created and filled two new positions to promote its range of Oeics and unit trusts to UK investors.

Matt Couzens has joined the firm as sales investments director and will focus on the discretionary and adviser markets.

Prior to this, Couzens was associate director of UK wealth management at Russell Investments after spending five years at Legal & General Investment Management.

The firm has also hired Deirdre McNamara as head of third party relationships and will be responsible for dealing with nationals, networks, platforms and rating agencies.

Before this, McNamara was at Legal & General for ten years and most recently held the role of third party relationship manager.

Both Couzens and McNamara will report to Canada Life Investments head of sales and marketing Frank Maret.

Maret says: “This is an exciting time for Canada Life Investments as we look to expand our footprint in the UK retail market through our actively managed, RDR-ready funds.

“The growth of our team is a symbol of our dedication to the UK retail space, and our belief that we provide strong solutions for today’s investors.”
