Allianz Global Investors has added sterling hedge share classes to its £241m Allianz Income and Growth and £377m Allianz Flex Asia Bond funds.

Doug Forsyth’s Allianz Income and Growth fund invests in a mix of global equities, bonds and convertible bonds and the new share class will distribute a monthly 6 per cent pay-out.

Cheng Chee Seng’s Allianz Flex Asia Bond fund focuses on Asian bonds and currencies deemed to be undervalued compared with the dollar.

Allianz Global Investors head of retail sales Nick Smith says: “We continue to see growing demand from advisers for products that will help clients achieve their financial goals even in an environment of financial repression.

“Both these funds go a long way to be able to adgieve this which is why we have introduced the sterling share classes.”
