JP Morgan Asset Management is to launch an onshore version of its $1.1bn Luxembourg-domiciled America Equity Sicav.
The JPM America Equity fund will be available to UK investors from the 31 January and will be co-managed by Jonathan Simon and Greg Luttrell, who already manage the Sicav original.
With 20 to 50 high conviction stocks, the onshore fund will follow the same investment objective as its offshore counterpart, focussing on high alpha large cap US equities.
According to FE Analyics, the JPM America Equity has returned 49.33 per cent over three years to 24 January and 137.98 per cent over five years, outperforming the IMA North America sector’s respective average gains of 42.53 per cent and 130.82 per cent.
JPMAM head of UK field sales Mike Parsons says: “Now, with economic confidence recovering and macro headwinds subsiding in the US, investors are asking us for higher alpha exposure. For UK investors accessing US equities, there is a gap in the marketplace for concentrated, actively managed portfolios.”
“Jonathan is a seasoned value investor and Greg is a dedicated growth investor, but their styles are complementary. They both take a long-term approach to finding quality companies. Jonathan looks for value opportunities, but the fund will not compromise on growth as Greg prioritises future growth potential. The combination is a powerful and proven stock selection process.”
