JP Morgan appoints head of trust sales

JP Morgan Asset Management has appointed Investec Bank co-head of investment companies Tim Mitchell to the newly-created role of head of investment trust sales.

JPMAM says Mitchell will co-ordinate sales and investor relations activity for the trusts across the institutional, private client, advisory and execution-only channels.

Mitchell will report to JPMAM head of investment trusts Simon Crinage, taking up his post in early February.

Prior to Investec Bank, Mitchell was head of listed fund sales for Invesco and previously spent time at Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch.

Mitchell’s appointment follows Charly Capper being promoted to head of marketing for investment rusts.

Crinage says: “As the largest manager of investment trusts both in terms of number and of assets under management, it is important that we also have a best-in-class sales and marketing presence. I am very pleased that Tim has decided to join us in this new role to spearhead our sales and investor relations effort, alongside our marketing team under Charly.

“Last year was our best ever in terms of fundraising. With our new teams in place I am confident we can go on to even better things in the years ahead.”
