Rathbone Brothers has appointed Andrew Butcher as its new chief operating officer, subject to regulatory approval.
Butcher will take over the role from Paul Chavasse, who will become the head of investment management at Rathbones in early 2012.
He joins the investment and wealth manager from Charles Stanley & Co, where he was also chief operating officer.
Butcher has spent 25 years working in the financial services industry and is the chairman of the Tax Incentivised Savings Association’s savings and investment council.
Andy Pomfret, the chief executive of Rathbones, comments: “Andrew’s skills and experience will be essential to maintaining our high quality of investment management services.”
