Fitch Ratings has affirmed Schroders’ M1 Asset Management rating.
The rating, reflecting the “lowest vulnerability to operational and investment management failure”, is linked to the firm’s development of its absolute return and institutional multi-asset sectors.
The report identifies the key challenges Schroders currently faces, including upwards activity in retail fund outflows, expanding the absolute return investment capabilities and adapting to regulatory changes.
Fitch also predicts that Schroders will be “continuously” challenged to retain investment professionals.
Fitch identifies the key strengths of Schroders as a “global, diversified, long-established franchise and a solid risk management framework”.
“Disciplined, research-driven investment processes across asset classes and a robust operational infrastructure”, are also cited as important assets in the report.
