Walker Crips have made a double hire from Barclays with Bill Newton and Andrew Powell joining as stockbrokers.
Newton joins from Barclays Advisory Stockbroking and was vice president of its advisory stockbroking team.
Powell, who also joins from Barclays, spent four years at the bank as a stockbroker focusing on both UK and US short-term equity trade ideas.
The latest hires follows two other Barclays stockbrokers joining Walker Crips in July.
Walker Crips chief executive Rodney Fitzgerald says: “Bill and Andrew join an increasing number of other investment managers and stockbrokers we have recruited over the past year as we continue to expand and diversify our advisory managed investment capability in direct response to increasing demand from clients. We look forward to working with them both to continue to grow Walker Crips’ reputation.”
