Standard Life Investments has hired Scottish Widows Investment Partnership investment director Andrew Paisley to join Harry Nimmo’s global smaller companies team.
Paisley will take control of the €258.4m (£205.95m) SLI European Smaller Companies Sicav.
The now five-strong smaller companies team consists SLI smaller companies head Nimmo, Alan Rowsell, Caspar Trenchard, Kirsty Desson and Paisley.
Nimmo says Paisley’s track record while managing UK and European equities is impressive.
“Annualised returns at each previous employer were consistently ahead of benchmark,” Nimmo says.
“With sixteen years of investment experience behind him, of which fourteen involve smaller companies equities, his input within our process, fund management and stock selection is likely to be prodigious.”
Paisley says: “I have admired the work of Harry and the team over many years and look forward to working with them to help develop the franchise further and continue to deliver out-performance for clients.”
The SLI European Smaller Companies Euro Sicav is second quartile over one and three years, according to FE Analytics. It is first quartile over five, gaining 140.3 per cent, compared with the Small Cap Europe sector average of 101 per cent.
