Henderson hires ex-UBS CIO for institutional push

Henderson Global Investors has hired John Harrison as a director on its multi-asset team in a drive for greater institutional business.

Harrison currently works for investment consultancy AllenbridgeEpic, where he advised four government pension schemes totalling £8bn. He will join Henderson this month.

Responsible for representing the multi-asset team to both retail and institutional clients, he will try expand the team’s £6.3bn of existing business, as well as drive further into the institutional space.

Multi-asset co-head Bill McQuaker says Harrison’s blend of investment and client management experience adds mush to the team.

“Most recently John’s experience has been in managing clients relationships in the multi-asset and advisory market,” he says.

“In addition to the wealth of investment experience he has built during his career, this will be of enormous benefit to us.”

Before AllenbridgeEpic, Harrison worked at UBS for 16 years. He had been the UK chief investment officer and head of UK institutional advisory solutions before leaving for the investment consultancy.
