Aviva Investors head of multi-asset research Shamik Dhar has quit the firm to take up the role of chief economist and director of economics at the Foreign Office.
Dhar had been at Aviva Investors since 2010 and was previously owner and director of Fathom Financial Consulting.
He also spent seven years at the Bank of England as a senior economist.
Dhar’s follows a number of departures from the multi-asset team at Aviva Investors, including head of institutional multi-asset Mirko Cardinale leaving for Russell Investments and fund managers Justin Onuekwusi and Andrzej Pioch joining L&G.
A spokesman for Aviva Investors says: ”We can confirm Shamik Dhar is leaving Aviva Investors to pursue an opportunity outside fund management.
“We continue to enjoy a well resourced strategy team under Peter Fitzgerald, our head of multi-asset investing.”
