Edinburgh Partners Global Opportunities investment trust has appointed David Ross as a non-executive director following the retirement of Richard Burns.
Burns announced his retirement from the trust at the annual general meeting back in April 2014. He had been a non-executive director on the trust’s board since the launch of the investment company in 2003.
Ross also retired from Aberforth Partners in late 2013 where had been one of the original founding partners.
EP Global Opportunities chairman Teddy Tulloch points out that both Burns and incoming director Ross have “very similar expertise.”
He says: “It was always going to be difficult to replace Richard Burns, with his extensive knowledge of investment trusts and financial markets, so I am delighted that David, who has very similar expertise, has agreed to become a Director.”
