The £16m Thesis Optima Income fund has switched IMA sectors to permit “more meaningful comparison” with similar portfolios.

Edward Fane’s fund has been moved from the Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares sector to the IMA Mixed Investment 0%-35% Shares peer group to reflect its typical allocation.

Fane says: “We have always maintained an internal limit of no more than 30 per cent exposure to equities within the fund, and this new sector offers a more natural peer group.”

Within the portfolio, the manager has recently been allocating more to strategic managers who will be able to shield investors from any knock-on effects of the Federal Reserve’s plans to taper quantitative easing.
