Smith & Williamson appoints co-chief execs

Smith & Williamson has appointed David Cobb and Kevin Stopps as co-chief executives and made Andrew Sykes non-executive chairman.

Both Cobb and Stopps will continue in their current roles alongside their new responsibilities. Cobb is currently head of investment management and Stopps is head of S&W’s tax and business services division.

Sykes has been appointed as replacement for the retiring Gareth Pearce.

Stopps says: “David and I are excited to lead the firm in the next phase of its evolution, driving the growth of one business with complementary service lines.”

Sykes says: ”These are exciting times in the fields of both accountancy and investment. With a firm footing in both areas, we believe there are excellent opportunities ahead for Smith & Williamson.”
