JP Morgan Asset Management has hired Nicholas Roberts to work as a portfolio manager on its Fusion fund of funds range.

Reporting to lead fund manager Tony Lanning, Roberts will assist in portfolio management responsibilities.

He joins from North Investment Partners where he had portfolio management responsibilities for seven multi-manager funds and a range of risk graded model portfolios.

Previously, Roberts was a multi-manager analyst at Gartmore and head of fund research at Williams de Broë.

Lanning says: “Nick’s extensive qualitative and quantitative research background in fund selection and his ability to communicate the value of the multi-manager investment proposition will further enhance the team.”

The Fusion range, which launched in March 2013, consists of five actively managed fund-of-funds across the risk spectrum.

Roberts says. “A key attraction of the role was the ability to draw upon a fantastic resource at the asset allocation level, whilst also having access to a highly impressive manager selection team.

”The truly global mandate of that team ensures we can materially differentiate the underlying holdings in the Fusion range from the peer group.”
