EQ Investors chief executive John Spiers has appointed his former Bestinvest colleague Sally Collins to run the boutique wealth manager’s simplified advice service, due to launch at the end of October.
The group, which was established by the BestInvest founder says it will deliver “blended online and telephone-based investment and pension advice”, to investors who do not have a large enough portfolio to justify face-to-face fees.
Freddie Cleworth, another former Bestinvest associate, and Nicola Allen, who has been promoted internally, will join head of Simply EQ Collins on the simplified advice team as investment advisers.
The team will be supported by EQ’s 10 investment managers and research analysts.
Spiers said: “With more than 15 years’ experience in financial services, Sally is ideally placed to help lead and mentor the Simply EQ adviser team.”
Collins added: “Having previously worked with John at Bestinvest, I’m looking forward to working with the team to ensure the success of this exciting new service.”
