Waverton appoints business development manager

Waverton Investment Management has appointed Charles Stanley’s William Tong as a business development manager for its managed funds service team, working alongside marketing director Mark Barrington.

Before Charles Stanley, where Tong was responsible for intermediary sales across the London region, he worked for Towry Law, initially in the private client team and later in the change team as the business readied itself for RDR.

Most recently Tong was business development manager at Evercore Pan-Asset then Charles Stanley Pan Asset.

Laverton’s head of the managed funds John Bellamy says that Tong has ”significant experience of working alongside financial advisers and supporting them in the delivery of investment solutions to their clients”.

In May former head of Kames Capital, Andrew Fleming, was hired as the new chief executive at Waverton, replacing Hugh Grootenhuis, who had been head of Waverton since 2009.

Waverton had approximately £4.6bn of assets under management as of 31st March 2015.
