Lazard Asset Management has hired former Henderson Global Investors manager Léopold Arminjon to run a new European long-short fund, which will be launched later this year.
“This new strategy will complement our strong European equity capabilities and will broaden our already robust expertise in long/short equities, a core focus of our investment offerings for clients,” says Bill Smith, chief executive of Lazard Asset Management London.
Arminjon left Henderson in February this year when the manager merged its two European long-short strategies, managed by Arminjon and John Bennett. Henderson merged the Pan European Alpha fund and the Henderson European Absolute Return Alpha funds.
Arminjon has also previously worked at Gartmore on the Continental Europe equities team.
