Gartmore hires three more from GAM

Gartmore has strengthened its European team with the hiring of three investment professionals from GAM, it was announced today.

Asim Rahman and Christian Billinger will join as investment analysts, and Eleanor Cameron will join as a manager in dealing and operations.

All three will report to John Bennett, who joins Gartmore as senior portfolio manager, European equities, in January 2010. Bennett, also joins the group from GAM, where he managed the GAM Star Continental European Equity fund and GAM Star European Equity fund.

Rahman, Billinger and Cameron are also expected to join Gartmore in January 2010.

Prior to joining GAM, where she worked with the Japan, UK, International and Multi-Manager teams, Cameron worked at Castle Cairn and Ivory & Sime.

Rahman and Bilinger, who were both investment analysts in GAM’s European investment team, joined from Goldman Sachs and PricewaterhouseCoopers, respectively.

Bennett and his team will assume lead management responsibility for the Gartmore European Selected Opportunities and the Gartmore Sicav Continental European funds.

Bennett will also be responsible for developing a range of pan European products for Gartmore.

This will allow the funds’ current managers, Roger Guy and Guillaume Rambourg, to concentrate on their alternative and institutional mandates.
