Subject: Re: Fancy a drink?
I’d love to catch up – it’s been ages since we last took wine together. I’m off to Cowes next week, though, so will be frantic this week making certain my desk’s clear. How about the week of the 11th?
Subject: Congratulations – again!
There is every chance you will be leading the field over six months by the end of the month. It’s such a shame you’re not prepared to be more pro-active with the media. I had such high hopes for us when I first met you.
Subject: Your building work.
I’ve had a job cancelled so could start next week if that suits you. I’d like to have another look at what’s needed, in case my quote needs revising. When would be convenient to call round?
Subject: Fancy a summer lunch?
Haven’t seen you for ages. I need to be up in town next week so why don’t we get together for a jolly lunch. I need to catch up on the gossip and you could always brighten an old man’s day by inviting Shirley to join us.
Subject: Settling in.
It’s nice to be back in the City – well, nearly. Actually, there are some nice bars and restaurants close by. Shoreditch and Hoxton are only just around the corner and are so trendy these days. Fancy buying me lunch one day?
Subject: Shirley Webster.
I think you may be right about Constellation, but I’m still interested in anything you might dig up. I’d particularly like to know about one of their fund managers, Shirley Webster. She’s young and bright, I hear – and easy on the eye too!
To be continued…
