Standard Life Investments has appointed Stan Pearson as head of European equities, replacing Fraser Chalmers, who, after four years, is returning to his role as an investment director in the Japanese equities team.Pearson joins from Pioneer in Dublin, where he was head of equities. He has 17 years’ fund management experience and began his career at Scottish Widows Investment Management. Pearson will be responsible for the European equities team and its fund performance. According to figures from Trustnet, the Standard Life European Equity Growth fund was ranked 33rd out of 95 funds in the IMA Europe ex UK sector over three years to March 31, with a return of 114.1% against a sector average of 112.1%. SLI has also appointed ĳa Norrie as investment director for Scandinavia. She will be responsible for the marketing and development of SLI’s business in the region.
