Harris takes reins of CSAM fund from Finn

Stuart Harris has taken over from Crispin Finn as lead manager of the 46m Credit Suisse Smaller Companies fund.

Finn, who had been lead manager of the portfolio since July 1999, will continue to be involved with the fund as deputy fund manager. Harris has worked with Finn on the portfolio for the past three years. Finn’s responsibilities as lead manager of Credit Suisse’s 46m UK Mid 250 and 49m Alpha Growth funds are unaffected by the change.

The move reflects Credit Suisse Asset Management’s policy to develop in-house talent, and fits the group’s strategy of growing its UK equity growth capabilities.

Managing director Ian Chimes says the handover will be seamless. Harris also co-manages the 77m Credit Suisse Fellowship fund with Suzie Kemp.
