Amati Global Investors has appointed James Ferguson as chairman ahead of expanding its coverage of overseas markets.
Ferguson, a chairman of a number of investment trusts, says Amati, a venture capital trust (VCT) provider had generated returns from the past through investing in Aim-listed companies with international exposure.
Assuming regulation remains stable, he says there may also be an opportunity for Amati VCTs to invest in European Union (EU) companies as part of the new rules.
Ferguson chairs the Value and Income, Monks and Scottish Oriental Smaller Companies investment trusts and the Northern 3 VCT. (article continues below)
He is a former chairman of Stewart Ivory and deputy chairman of the AIC.
