Hit and miss

The perennial question of whether or not an active fund manager’s track record is down to luck or judgement was again addressed last week following the publication of research by Inalytics. Based on the examination of 215 long only funds worth a combined $152 billion (£99 billion), found that the average manager’s ability to identify winners and losers stood no better than 50:50.
