Modest fall in confidence

The Investment Management Association (IMA)’s Great British Investor report showed only a modest drop in confidence since May 2008.

There was a drop of seven points from 78 to 71 in the Investor Confidence Index. The index operates on a scale between zero and 200, where 100 is market neutral.

Although sentiment is negative, the IMA says the fall is relatively modest given that the banking sector and markets have seen annual falls of more than 30% since the last report.
