JM Finn & Co has launched a continental African fund targeting capital growth and income.
The JM Finn Africa fund invests in large-cap businesses operating in sectors such as commodities and agriculture.
It also plays on emerging consumer demand, primarily through investments in the most populous African countries.
Anthony Eaton, the manager, will invest in major suppliers of highly sought after raw materials as well as companies he expects to benefit from the growth of the middle class. (article continues below)
The JM Finn Africa fund is the latest addition to the firm’s fund range, which comprises the UK Portfolio fund, the Global Opportunities fund and the UK Smaller Companies fund.
Eaton, who also manages the JM Finn Global Opportunities fund, has been visiting the continent regularly for the last six years.
Following the launch of the JM Finn Africa fund, he will be spending increasing amounts of time there as he continues to manage and grow both portfolios.
