London & Capital has hired Jamie Farquhar, ex-head of retail at F&C, to head a new portfolio management service. Working in conjunction with Old Broad Street Research (OBSR), it will allow investment across five risk-graded portfolios that target bank base rate-plus returns.
The London & Capital Portfolio Management Service is the first vehicle to be launched by the group’s new retail division, which Farquhar heads. Farquhar joined London & Capital from Lifetime, where he was responsible for the investment proposition of Norwich Union’s open architecture wrap platform.
OBSR will be responsible for creating a shortlist of underlying funds for the five strategies, while asset allocation will be decided by Ashok Shah, chief investment officer at London & Capital. Investors will be able to hold their portfolio on any of the major fund supermarkets or wrap propositions.
