Thames River on hunt for British equity team

Thames River Capital is searching for a British equity team to fill the most obvious gap in its fund range.

Michael Warren, investment director of Thames River, says: “We are focusing on recruiting the right team rather than getting a team to manage particular funds, such as UK equity income.”

It was expected that Thames River would try to recruit a UK equity team last year.

But Thames River decided to put this back to 2008 as it recruited Robert Burdett and Gary Potter from Credit Suisse Asset Management and launched nine funds between September and November.

Thames River also plans to launch a multi-asset fund that will invest in its own managers. The group is evaluating the best structure for this fund, which is likely to include closed-ended as well as open-ended funds.
