Ashburton appoints assistant manager

Alan Le Maistre has taken on the role of assistant fund manager on the Ashburton European Equity team. He first joined the group as a trainee investment manager in 2007. Richard Robinson, the manager of the group’s European Equity fund, says in a statement that Le Maistre displayed an aptitude for identifying new ideas and themes.

The European Equity fund aims to identify investment opportunities in the sub-sectors that it expects to benefit in the long-term. Its fund managers rotate investments according to valuation, news-flow, and supply and demand dynamics.

When selecting holdings for the fund, Ashburton’s active equity fund managers are not constrained by benchmarks in terms of country, sector or stock weightings. They screen for companies of substance and financial strength that have the capacity to grow under proven management.
