Henderson Global Investors has confirmed that Mark Harris and Craig Heron, multi-managers at New Star, are moving over to the firm next month.
As Fund Strategy reported on March 9, Harris was keen join Hendersons but the group had not put an offer on the table to keep him.
The Henderson-New Star deal will be finalised in April, after which both managers will officially move. They will continue to run their eight-strong fund of funds range as usual.
Harris said in a statement: “We expressed our commitment earlier this year that we wish to continue to manage money and remain with our loyal investors. We are, therefore, delighted to announce we will join Henderson once the deal is complete in early April.
“Craig and I will continue to manage our range of fund of funds and we are very much looking forward to working with Bill [McQuaker] and his team and look forward to providing positive updates later in the year.”
Last week Guy de Blonay, the manager of the New Star Global Financials fund, confirmed he will also join Hendersons.
Tim Steer, who runs New Star UK Alpha, is leaving the group to take up a role at Artemis.
