Equities boost performance

The Mid Wynd International investment trust increased its net asset value by 10.3% over the six months to December 31, compared with a rise in the benchmark FTSE World index of 9.8%. Manager Michael MacPhee of Baillie Gifford says that performance was boosted by increased exposure to equities over bonds. Bond exposure is now just 8.4% of the overall portfolio. The trust increased its exposure to Japan and Asia Pacific, while maintaining an underweight position in US equities.
