Brown Shipley has recruited Simon Nicholas to run its MultiManager Growth and MultiManager International funds, taking over from Peter Botham, chief investment officer.
Nicholas will also be part of the private bank’s third-party funds research team and investment policy committee.
He was previously managing director of private clients at Mercater Capital Management, also holding roles at Aberdeen Asset Management and Cazenove Fund Management. (article continues below)
Over three years to the start of August, the Growth fund is upper third-quartile in the Active Managed sector while International is bottom second-quartile in the Global Growth peer group.
Botham says all three of the group’s multi-manager funds have been performing well and demonstrate the strength of the team approach within the group’s investment policy committee.
