Axa Framlington loses manager to Santander

Keith Speck, fund of funds manager at Axa Framlington, is to leave the group to join Santander Asset Management as head of multi-manager.

Speck, who joined Axa Framlington in March 2005, will leave the group on December 21. Caspar Rock, head of multi-manager at Axa Framlington, has already taken over management of Speck’s funds. These are the £15m Multimanager Cautious Income, the £40m Multimanager Balanced and the £387m Multimanager Growth funds. Rock was the alternate manager.

At Santander, Speck will work on a range of multi-manager funds, including the £168m Abbey National Multi-manager UK Balanced fund. Last month Santander appointed Estrella Llorente as senior portfolio manager to take over the day-to-day running of Abbey’s multi-manager portfolios.

There are 15 funds within the group’s multi-manager range.
