F&C Investment Trust appoints chairman

Simon Fraser is to take up the role of non-executive director and chairman designate of the F&C Investment Trust on September 22, from Mark Loveday.

Fraser is currently non-executive director of Barclays, Barclays Bank, Merchants Trust, Fidelity European Values and Fidelity Japanese Values. He has also held a number of positions at Fidelity International, including chief investment officer, president of the European and British institutional business, and president of the investment solutions group.

He stepped down from executive responsibilities at the end of last year.

Loveday will retire immediately following the trust’s annual general meeting in May 2010. He served for served nine years on the board, the last eight of which were spent as chairman.
