Allianz Global Investors is to close the OEIC version of its Global EcoTrends fund as it is “too small” and “no longer economically viable”.
The fund, which has £6.3m in assets under management, will be closed on 29 October.
However, its Luxembourg version, which has €153m (£108m) in assets, will not be affected by the closing and will continue to be managed by Vipin Ahuja.
Both funds invest in companies associated with eco-energy, pollution control and clean water.
Allianz Global Investors has also changed the branding of its RiskMaster suite of funds “to better reflect their strategy”, a company spokesperson confirmed. The four funds in the range will now have “multi-asset” added to their names from 1 September.
“We think that the name change will increase transparency to investors by adding the term ’multi asset’”, Allianz GI’s spokesperson says.
The name change will have no impact on the funds’ investment objectives and policies.
