Investec Wealth & Investment has promoted Tom Street to the newly-created role of managing director IW&I UK.
Previously head of investment management at IW&I, Street will now oversee all client-facing aspects of the business. He will govern the financial planning, private office and AIM divisions, and will continue to head up the investment management arm.
Street will continue to report to Jonathan Wragg, IW&I chief executive, and will also take charge of the group’s research, investment risk, projects and marketing.
IW&I has created the new role for Street to allow Wragg to focus on the firm’s strategy and corporate development.
Senior investment directors Matt Beddall, Carl Cross and Richard Greenhalgh have also been appointed to lead the offices in Sheffield, Liverpool and Manchester, respectively.
Beddall, who has worked in the Sheffield office for more than 15 years, will take over responsibility for the Sheffield office from Tom Street.
Cross will take over as head of the Liverpool office from Jon Seal, who will retire in 2017. Cross has worked in the Liverpool office for more than 20 years.
Greenhalgh, who joined the firm in 2007, takes over from Jonathan Quick who is retiring during 2016 as head of Manchester office.
Wragg says: “I am delighted that Tom has agreed to take on the new role of managing director. This new structure is an important step forward as it will provide further support for our business as we continue to expand while ensuring that our service to our existing client base is enhanced further.”
Street adds: “It is a privilege to take on the responsibility for all client-facing functions. It is a very exciting time for the business and as we take on the challenges of operating and expanding in a changing environment, we want to ensure that we offer clients a service of the highest possible standard, delivered by high-calibre people with expertise and integrity.”
