Investec Asset Management is an independently managed entity within the Investec Group. In March 2013, senior management personnel including chief executive Hendrik du Toit and managing director of UK distribution David Aird reached a deal to acquire a 15 per cent shareholding in Investec Asset Management for £180m.

Investec Asset Management is a specialist provider of active investment products and services to institutional and individual investors with £66.8bn in total funds under management, as at 31 March 2014. It offers a range of investment strategies in global, emerging and frontier markets spanning across equity, fixed-income, multi-asset and alternative asset classes. The Cautious Managed fund, managed by Alastair Mundy, is one of the firm’s most popular funds.
