The board of Invesco Perpetual Select trust has announced that veteran fund manager Mark Barnett will be stepping back from managing its UK equity portfolio in a move that will see James Goldstone take responsibility.

Chairman Patrick Gifford says Barnett has worked with the trust for 10 years, but that it was “an appropriate time for him to pass the baton to one of the rising stars of Invesco Perpetual’s UK Equities team”.

Goldstone has worked with Barnett for four years and has 15 years’ experience in the industry.

He currently manages approximately £160m in the UK Equity Pension fund and pan-European Equity mandates.
