Invesco Perpetual poaches fund manager from SLI GARS

Invesco Perpetual has appointed Sebastian Mackay from Standard Life Investments, where he was part of the global absolute return strategy portfolio construction team.

Mackay, who starts in September, will help to establish multi-asset income products at Invesco Perpetual. He joined SLI in 2011 and was also investment director and portfolio manager on its absolute return global bond strategy.

Mackay started his career with Scottish Widows Investment Partnership in 2000, where he was part of the bonds team alongside David Millar, who is now head of multi asset at Invesco Perpetual.

Chris Lyes, head of UK retail sales at Invesco Perpetual, says Mackay’s appointment would lead to further development of income solutions within multi asset, which was important to many clients.

“Conversations with our clients tell us that there is strong need for an income-type product and it would be a natural progression for Invesco Perpetual, given our proven record as providers of both income and multi asset investing,” Lyes says.
