Gemini Investment Funds to rebrand as firm builds European presence

Board-Room-Meeting-Room-Business-700.pngFund distribution firm Gemini Investment Funds is proposing to change its name to GemCap Investment Funds (Ireland).

The firm is looking to rebrand as part of plans to expand its distribution capabilities within Europe. Gemini Investment Funds currently has a presence in the UK and Ireland, but it is looking to register in Luxembourg and Switzerland next month.

Michael Hooper, chief financial and operating officer, Gemini Capital Management, says the Gemini name is already trademarked in Switzerland, which prompted the name change.

“Gemini Capital Ireland is the brand name of the firm’s Irish management group, so it is the obvious name,” Hooper says.

The proposed rebranding will be put to a vote on 13 March. If approved, the name change will take effect within Gemini’s fund range.
