International multi-family office Stonehage Fleming has acquired FF&P Wealth Planning for an undisclosed sum.
The business, which will be rebranded Stonehage Fleming Wealth Planning, provides planning and investment advice to wealthy families. As part of the transaction, Richard Bertin, Susie Hillier and William Tudhope will become partners at Stonehage Fleming.
Stonehage Fleming chief executive for investments Anton Sternberg says the firm now combines wealth planning, family office services and investment management for domestic and international clients.
“The UK is a key strategic market for Stonehage Fleming and we are seeing an increasing demand from our clients for long-term financial planning and advice.
“We have particular experience of dealing with business owners, professionals and clients with complex affairs.”
Bertin says: “In this low return environment, effective planning for wealth preservation and transfer has never been more important.”
Hillier says: “We have been working closely with our colleagues in Stonehage Fleming for some time now.
“We see real opportunities for us to bring our technical planning expertise in support of their international clients where the second or third generation are settling in the UK.”
