Former FCA director of supervision Clive Adamson has joined investment manager Ashmore as a non-executive director, his third non-exec role since leaving the regulator in January.

Adamson resigned from his role at the regulator in December ahead of the publication of an inquiry into how the FCA announced its closed book review in March 2014.

He was among a number of staff to be singled out for criticism in the report, which revealed a catalogue of failings.

Adamson was on six months’ notice and was put on gardening leave from the end of January.

In June he took up two non-executive roles at JP Morgan and Prudential.

His appointment to Ashmore, a specialist emerging markets investment manager, is effective immediately.
