European Wealth Group has announced founder John Morton will transition to chief executive from his previous role as executive chairman.
Rod Gentry stood down as chief executive in April.
Morton will be replaced as chairman by Kenneth West, who currently holds several directorships, including at Aim-listed telecoms business Norcan and Pinnacle Plus Holdings. West has previously been chairman of wealth manager Ashcourt Rowan.
Group chief operating officer Simon Ray has also been appointed to the board as an executive director. Ray joined European Wealth when it acquired Aventus Capital Management, which he headed up.
Morton says West has been a “valuable member of the board” and that the business would draw upon his experience as it grows. Morton adds that Ray has been “instrumental” in supporting the development of European Wealth.
Morton, who founded European Wealth in 2010, became executive chairman in 2013.
