Columbia Threadneedle poaches from M&G for EMEA chief

Columbia Threadneedle has appointed Michelle Scrimgeour chief executive of Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Scrimgeour joins from M&G Investments where she was chief risk officer and also a group director.

M&G is yet to confirm her replacement.

Global chief executive at Columbia Threadneedle Ted Truscott says Scrimgeour joins as Columbia Threadneedle looks to grow its global business.

“In addition to her extensive experience across distribution, product, operations, risk and control functions, she brings energy, commerciality and a strong understanding of both wholesale and institutional client needs,” Truscott says.

Scrimgeour previously worked at BlackRock and worked in the team that led the $1trn EMEA business.

She has held roles across fixed income, alternatives and quantitative equity.
